Verified by I. Das. Herpetological Collection, Duy Tan University (DTU 654; photo voucher). Individual found at 1430 h, inside small hole with snowy water on the ground; surrounding habitat was secondary forest. First record for Myanmar; previously considered endemic to Yunnan, Sichuan, and Guizhou provinces, China (Pabijan et al. 2013. Mol. Phylogenet. Evol. 69:63–74). Locality in Pangmawjang Village represents westernmost distribution limit, ca. 90 airline km northwest of nearest known population on Lanping, Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan, China (Fei et al. 2012.
