Аннотация:The analysis of public access databases exclusively global coverage showed that adequate direct comparison of data at the global level could be held only for 2000-2010 years through the use of open data Global Land Cover Facility (received on the basis of MODIS with resolution of 5'x5'). Study of 17 land cover classes allowed us to calculate the relative shares of land cover classes for two time periods, as well as determine the relative reduction/increase of the area of the relevant classes. Additionally, there were also counted transitions between different classes. The transformation of land cover at the zonal level, produced within the boundaries of natural areas, taken from the digital Atlas of the world "ArcAtlas: Our Earth" (1996). Unlike land cover categories natural areas have as an attribute belonging to a geographical area. On the map allocated 26 natural areas corresponding to 7 geographic zones. The results provided a preview of the classifier of land cover/land use changes for a specified period and identify the types of transformation processes within the natural zones and subzones at a global level.
