Аннотация:Two methods for studying charge carrier transport in disordered polymer materials are compared, the time-of-flight technique and transient radiation-induced conductivity. Reasons for which the experimental data obtained using these two techniques disagree with one another for the same material are discussed. In the former mode, carriers are generated in the vicinity of one of the electrodes, whereas the latter method provides the uniform generation of charges of both signs in the bulk. Different spatial patterns of charge generation inevitably lead to differences in the carrier transport. Arguments for the preferable use of time-of-flight measurements for determining the carrier mobility are set forth.
