Аннотация:This chapter introduces the international appeal of Star Trek vis-à-vis the ways fans from all over the world organize for discussions, creative activities, and socializing in general. STARFLEET: The International Star Trek Fan Association serves as a paradigmatic example of how global Star Trek fandom has evolved since the 1970s. Changes brought to fandom by the spread of social media have registered most strongly in Asia (China, Indonesia). Peculiarities of national activities in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Brazil, Japan, and Russia are set in the cultural context of Star Trek’s perception in the respective countries.
