Аннотация:The monograph describes the history of the emergence and development of organic chemistry at Russian universities. It is a joint work of research teams from 48 Russian universities. The internal genetic links and mutual influence that the departments and outstanding organic scientists of Russian universities have had on each other throughout their history (from the middle of the 18th century to the present day) was traced in the book.
The data on the development and modern research topics, structure and educational process in Russian universities are presented. The sections of the monograph are arranged in chronological order: it opens with the history of organic chemistry in the cradle of Russian and world organic chemistry, Kazan, where in the works of A.M. Butlerov, such a concept as organic chemistry appeared; and the monograph is completed by sections devoted to the "youngest" universities.
