This document is the ninth report from the Video Quality Measurement Tool for 3D (VQMT3D) project. It presents results from an analysis of 105 S3D movies that examined temporal shifts between views and introduces a new metric for detecting stuck-to-background objects in converted S3D scenes. The report also introduces a classifier that determines which technique was used during production of a scene (capture, conversion or CGI). The project is led by the CS MSU Graphics & Media Lab (Moscow, Russia) team. This report mainly addresses natively captured and post-converted S3D films. The selected films are available as Blu-ray 3D discs (we evaluated these Blu-ray releases). Therefore, the comparison is fair, as all films analyzed here are intended for viewing on home stereoscopic cinema systems. The report comprises three main parts. • The first section describes the temporal-shift metric and shows scenes in which we automatically detected temporal shift. The end of this section presents overall charts for all 105 films. • The second section contains examples of automatically detected stuck-to-background objects in converted S3D movies. • The third section provides examples of detected shots that employed 2D-3D conversion in natively captured films and examples of natively captured shots in converted movies. The report concludes with an overall film comparison, including a table of results from our temporal-shift analysis as well as charts depicting the average values of our metrics for different films.
