This report is focused on the rich chemistry of 3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes (bispidines - Figure). Due to multiple possibilities of functionalization at N-atoms (way A) or introduction of functional groups at the synthesis of the bicyclic core itself (way B), these molecules represent highly exploited class of organic compounds, either in medicinal or in coordination chemistry. We will discuss here several types of supramolecular interactions, which were found by our lab in the crystals of diversely substituted bispidines – H-bonds, Hal-bonds, Hal-pi-bonds, pi-pi-stackings etc.
