Current level of SAR-technique development and data requires the user to understand the processes of radar image generation depending both on a SAR-imaging system modes parameters and territory features. The main object of the study is finding an effective way of the geographical interpretation of radar images for a definite territory with some specific environmental problem. The research aims at revealing and mapping of abandoned agricultural lands state in the Volga river delta, Astrakhan region.
