Progress in Geography was founded in 1982, formerly known as "Geographic Translation Newspaper". In 1997, it was renamed "Progress in Geography". It is supervised by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, co-sponsored by the Institute of Geographic Science and Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Geographical Society. It is currently the only "progress" journal in domestic geography. It is characterized by orientation, exploration and forward-looking. It mainly publishes the latest progress reflecting the development of geography at home and abroad, breakthrough theoretical progress in various branches of geography, and Innovative and important original research results. In addition, reports on domestic and foreign academic conferences, academic information and book reviews are published. Based on the domestic and international aspects, in the 38 years since its inception, it has published more than 4,000 papers, reviews, and book reviews of various types.
Purpose of this journal: To fully reflect the progress of cutting-edge research in geographic science, to promote academic exchanges and discussions at home and abroad, and to promote the development of theoretical and applied research in geographic science; to enhance the public's understanding and understanding of the results of geographic research.

Progress: An introduction to breakthrough theoretical advances in the various branches of geography, or to reporting significant findings.
